Cookies & Storage Policy

Cookie Policy

Last Updated: January 1, 2026

At DGNTool, transparency and data dignity guide everything we build. This Cookie Policy explains how and why we utilize browser storage technologies, Google advertising cookies, and how you retain total control over your digital footprint.

Manage Cookie Preferences

You can customize your cookie consent and data storage settings at any time.

What Are Cookies & Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. In modern web applications, client-side HTML5 LocalStorage is often preferred over server cookies because it remains strictly on your device and is never automatically sent across network requests to backends.

Categories of Storage Technologies We Use

Essential / Functional

Essential Preferences (HTML5 LocalStorage)

Used exclusively to persist your display settings and preferences directly on your local device. These never communicate with remote databases.

  • dgntool_theme: Preserves your Light, Dark, or System mode choice.
  • dgntool_favorites: Holds your bookmarked tools for fast access.
  • dgntool_consent: Records your cookie banner selection.
Third-Party / Marketing

Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

Deployed by Google AdSense to enable free global access to our platform. These help serve contextual or non-intrusive advertisements and prevent fraud.

  • Ad tracking cookies (__gads, __gpi): Prevent showing the same ad repeatedly and measure campaign effectiveness.
  • You may opt out of personalized ads at any time via Google Ads Settings.

Why DGNTool Replaced Server Cookies With LocalStorage

Traditional cookies travel with every single HTTP request, creating unnecessary data transmission and potential privacy leaks. DGNTool avoids server tracking cookies completely for site operations. Your favorites, calculation scratchpads, and UI settings exist solely on your machine.

How to Manage, Disable, or Clear Cookies

You have the right to accept, customize, or reject cookies at any time. Disabling cookies will not break our calculation tools; only your visual theme preference will revert to system default upon reloading.

Go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Third-party cookies to manage permissions.
Mozilla Firefox
Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Enhanced Tracking Protection & Cookies.
Apple Safari
